Entrance to Dos Ojos Cenote in Tulum
Description
Receive your access coupon for this paradisiacal Cenote on your mobile phone now. Explore one of the most filmed and photographed cenote of the Riviera Maya and enjoy swimming in the calm crystal clear water as long as you want. These two neighboring cenotes, connected by a very large cavern zone, are part of one of the largest underground river systems in the world. While entering into the cavern area you will see impressive stalagmites and stalactites above and underneath you. While swimming through the spectacular stalactite and stalagmite formations, avoid touching or stepping on them as they are very fragile and break easily. The water temperature is just perfect throughout the year at a constant 76-77 degree fahrenheit (24-25 degree celsius). Mexican food and drinks are served next to the parking area at Restaurante Dos Ojos and Restaurante Juanita (around $150 to $200 pesos per person for a meal with drink). Cenote Dos Ojos is a must do for anybody who likes snorkeling and is looking for a truly singular experience. To get from the parking or main visitor center to the cenotes you can hike 15 minute on a jungle road or take one of the taxis waiting right there for around $60 pesos. We recommend to bring some snacks and drinks yourself because there is no service right at the cenotes. Snorkel equipment is not included but can be rented at a small additional cost at the main visitors center.
